NORTH CAROLINA

Haunts will include Alien Annihilation and Big Top Terror. The park will also present The Freakshow Deluxe. Geared to younger kids, Howl-o-Fest will be held Fridays and Saturdays featuring the Nickelodeon characters.

Haunted houses will include Lair of the Vampire and Undertaker U. Shows will include MagiComedy and Monsters Rock! Buried Alive. For younger kids, the park will feature the Peanuts characters in Camp Spooky and offer a kids-only mild haunted house, the Magical House on Boo Hill. On Saturdays and Sundays, the park will present a parade.

Kings Island

Haunts will include Club Blood and Massacre Manor. Shows will include Dead Awakening. On Saturdays and Sundays, Nick-Or-Treat will be geared to younger kids, and will feature the Nickelodeon characters.

Cost: Included in admission. Even though it's no longer part of the Six Flags family, Frontier City will continue to use the name Fright Fest for its Halloween event. Attractions will include the House of Screams haunted house, the Dead Man's Party show, and the Pumpkin Patch trick-or-treat trail for younger guests.

Hey, who could possibly be more of an authority on trick-or-treating than the Hershey folks, right? There aren't any hanuted houses, but Hershey will offer shows such as Howling at the Moon and The Great Candy Caper. At the adjacent ZooAmerica, guests can bring flashlights to observe the nocturnal habits of animals at Creatures of the Night.

Idlewild

Idlewild is geared to the pre-teen crowd, so it's no surprise that its Halloween event steers clear of the usual gore. Instead, the park will feature trick-or-treating, themed rides, and a walk-through maze.

The park's train ride turns into Jack's Nightmare Express, while the the Wild Reserve section of the park goes to the dark side when the Werewolf Reserve takes over. Haunted mazes include The NeverAfter and The Beaten Path. Keeping in the spirit of Busch Gardens great shows, Howl-O-Scream also features some wild sounding revues, including Monster Stomp and Jack is Back.

Kings Dominion
