Six Flags for Under 60 Bucks
Friday November 9, 2007
Six Flags Magic Mountain is running a great season pass deal. For $59.99, the regular full price of admission at the gate, guests can get a season pass that will gain them entry for the rest of this year (the California park is the only one in the Six Flags chain that is open year round), will allow unlimited admission throughout 2008, and will be honored at all 20 of the other Six Flags parks next season. If that's not enough of an incentive, the park is throwing in a bunch of gimmes, including passes for friends and a one-day water park pass. (The adjacent Hurricane Harbor is otherwise not included in the unlimited admission season pass). Granted, most guests are coupon-savvy and don't pay regular full price for a single ticket, but even the best deal generally brings the cost down to about $29.99. If you're planning to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain more than once between now and the end of 2008, you'll want to consider purchasing the season pass. And if you're a real park fan (and you probably wouldn't be reading this unless you were at least a causal fan), and you're thinking about visiting more than one Six Flags park next season, this is a great deal. Other parks in the chain are selling season passes, but none match Six Flags Magic Mountain's low price. For example, the price at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, near San Francisco, is $69.99. And the season pass price at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey is $79.99. Since the passes are available online, I believe that anyone, regardless of where they are based, can purchase them. As a comparison, Cedar Point's 2008 season pass, which is good for admission to the Ohio park and the other parks in the Cedar Fair chain, costs $140. Perhaps Six Flags season passes would make great presents for the coaster lovers on your holiday list.
